Definition of Communication

Communication takes place when one mind so acts upon its environment that another mind is influenced, and in that other mind an experience occurs which is like the experience in the first mind, and is caused in part by that experience. In simple words, Communication can be defined as transfer of information from one place to another with the help of TV, radio, telephone, internet and newspaper.
Communication needs at least two parties. First is the giver and second is receiver. Receiver must understand in the same meaning in which sender communicates information. Communication is a process of exchanging ideas, information etc. between two parties.
In conclusion, Communication is an important function of management. It exchanges feelings, ideas, views and experiences. Management cannot perform any work without effective communication. At least two parties are needed for communication. Communication may be formal and informal.
